Helsingborg is a major travel destination welcoming
millions of business and leisure visitors each year.
A scenic and picturesque pedestrian area with lots
of quality shopping, good restaurants and historic
attractions makes Helsingborg a must, not only in
Sweden but in Scandinavia.
Most sites and neighbourhoods are within walking distance,
which is part of the charm. In the surroundings of
Helsingborg you’ll find some of the best golf
courses, a former royal summer residence with a very
well renowned restaurant, an outdoor summer theatre
and breath-taking scenic nature. Helsingborg has a
large selection of shops. You can choose from a varied
collection. The most important shopping street is
Kullagatan at the northern end of the city.
In popular speech, Helsingborg is known as the Pearl
of the Öresund. Helsingborg is a great small
town with good shopping in the pedestrian streets
and a rich cultural life. The exciting new Dunker’s
Cultural House, has already become a landmark. You’ll
find some of Scandinavia’s best renowned chefs
here and wide range of less expensive restaurants
and bars. Bordering on the sea, we have a beautiful
new residential area by the waterfront, beaches and
historical sites. Only minute’s away right across
the Öresund you can see Denmark, Ellsinore and
the Kronborg Palace, Hamlet’s “home”.
Helsingborg has excellent connections to and from
the rest of Europe and the world. Direct trains from
Copenhagen International Airport take you to the city
centre in less than two hours. From Malmö’s
international airport, Sturup, Helsingborg is less
than an hour and half away. And the Ängelholm-Helsingborg
airport is 15 minutes away. A well developed highway
system connects Helsingborg to all major cities in
the rest of Scandinavia and Europe.
